« In the dream, I was in bed and there was a big window behind me. There was a giant tree outside. All of a sudden, every animal known to humanity came through the window: dogs, cats, orangutans, chickens, ferrets, apes, everything. The dog and the cat were hissing and growling at each other, and then suddenly they started loving each other. “I’m supposed to not like you according to my genes,” they seemed to say, “but I like you.” That happened with all the animals. It was so beautiful. Then I walked into an enormous kitchen. There was coffee brewing: instant coffee, French coffee, Italian coffee, and espresso – the ass-kicking coffee. I drank the espresso. The dream was about becoming fully awake. The first time I had that feeling was in the 70’s. I was just minding my own business, sitting in a park, waiting for my friends, and boom! All of a sudden, all these babies and dogs came over. All the critters knew something was up. I wasn’t praying, I wasn’t thinking holy thoughts, I wasn’t doing anything. It was a feeling of love and peace and oneness. Love for grass, love for animals, for the sky, plastic, the chair, the wall. It was a feeling of never being separated from anything. »
