World Dream Atlas
« I was at a baseball game. The Angels were playing, and my attention was on the game. Then, all of a sudden, a herd of buffalo crossed the outfield. I was amazed and tried to point it out to my father, but he wasn’t paying attention. There were 30,000 people in that stadium and nobody noticed but me. I grew up in a world of things like baseball where there isn’t room for divinity. I think that the name of the team is very interesting – the Angels. Everyone was transfixed by this thing that wasn’t really it. When the buffalo came out, it was like a layer of truth far deeper. It superseded everything else. »
